“Harvesting the Light” is reinstalled at the Skagit County Historical Museum. This very popular exhibit features photographs by award winning professionals working in Skagit County capturing the spirit of farming in this beautiful valley. May 3rd, world renowned sculptor, Phillip Levine, will talk about his work. Five decades of sketches and sculpture are on exhibition. He will also sign copies of his new book, “Phillip Levine: Myth, Memory & Image”.
MONA is currently accepting work for the 17th Annual Art Auction, to be held Saturday, June 20th. It is a great gala and an opportunity to acquire very special work by one of 300+ painters, printmakers, sculptors, glass artists, ceramic artists, jewelers, textile artists, and photographers and benefit the museum.
The La conner Quilt and Textile Museum will have an opening reception on Saturday, April 4, for two new exhibitions:
“Visions in Fibers” will have a lecture and tour by curator Sheila Groman on Sunday, April 5th, 1-3 PM. Her “bright, bold color combinatins anf fresh designs” will draw you to this eclectic work.
“Birdscapes” curator Karin Franzen will give a Lecture and Tour of her exhibit on Friday April 3rd, 1-3 PM. This Alaska resident is a full time studio fiber artist.
***Saturday March 21st, 1-2:30 PM, Anita Luvera Mayer will give a talk about her recent travels to Turkey. Her abliity to connect with the best of fiber artists
in far away places is exceptional and her willingness to “take others along” literally or by way of her journals, collections, and inspirations will make
